In a dialogue to discuss the demands of an increasingly educated ageing population in Singapore, grassroots leaders in their 50s & 60s shared their ideas on how to age actively. The ideas include having "greater community support", staying healthy and providing more affordable healthcare.

The People's Association (PA) has a wellness programme that offers a wide range of activities including dancing, qi gong, gardening and tai ji.They believe that it will help them "forge new friendships and deepen bonds with one another" as well as keep them physically, socially and mentally active.
